Spiced masala milk

Spiced masala milk is my masala tea replacement. It is very flavoursome and I don't miss my morning tea at all. Also during winter days it is very good to have this hot steaming spiced masala milk.

Serves 2:
Ingredients:
Ginger: 1/2 inch
Lemongrass: 3-4 large leaves
Cardamon pod: 1
Cinnamon: 1 inch
Water: 1.5 cups
Milk: 1 cup
Sugar to taste (I drink mine without any)
Mint leaves: 4-5 (optional)

Preparation:
Peel and wash ginger, crush it or cut it into small pieces. Wash and clean lemongrass leaves and cut it into small pieces. Rub them against your palm as this will help flavours to come out. Crush cardamon pod.
[Tip: Use the serving cups for the water and milk measurement]
Take 1.5 cups of water in a milk pan and add all the spices to it. Let it boil until the water burns to half. This may take up to 5 minutes.
Add milk and let it boil on slow flame.
Bring it to boil. This make take up to 3-4 minutes.
Insert a sieve in a serving cup and gently pour the liquid in it.
Serve hot.
