Lapsi

Lapsi is type of Gujrati sweet cooked on holy or auspicious occasion such as new year, family goddess pooja, Navratri nortas etc. Lapsi is accompanied with Moong. They are considered as favorite offering to God.

It is also healthy to eat and has less of saturated fat and contains good complex carbohydrate. It is also very tasty. I hope you like this recipe.

Ingredients:
Coarse / thick wheat flour: 1 cup
Melted ghee/ clarified butter: 6-7 table spoon
Jaggery: 2-3 table spoon
Water: 1/3 cup

Preparation:
Heat pan and add water in it. Add jaggery in it.

Let it melt.
Add 1-2 table spoon of ghee to it.
In another plate take wheat flour.
Add 2 table spoon of ghee to it.
Using palm mix it well.
Add this flour to the hot jaggery water and with wooden spatula keep stirring
till water is absorb in the flour
and you get semi dry semolina like lump.
We will steam this mixture for 10-15 minutes on medium flame.

Heat the water in steamer
and once water is boiling add the flour container in the steamer.
Add 3 table spoon of melted ghee all over the flour.
Cover it and let it cook for 10-15 minutes.
Serve hot or cold. Add melted ghee as garnish while serving.
